Alberta Wild

$1,100.00

Alberta wild
24x36"
Acrylic, Oil, Dried Alberta Wildflowers on Paper

I collected bluebells, Indian paintbrush, purple vetch, Red clover, Queen Anne's Lace, buttercup and pressed them in a book.  They waited until winter came and my desire to paint became stronger than my fear that I'd forgotten how.  This piece was my bridge back to Artist and creator.  Inside its colours I reacquainted myself with mediums I hadn't played with in 10 years. watercolours, Acrylics, Oils, pencil crayon, charcoal, marker. But the dried flowers were my favourite part. Taken out of their dust-covered books, they had been preserved, put on a high shelf just waiting for their time. Just like me.
